Red Ball Level 1

Red Ball is the first level of the 10U youth progression program which utilizes a larger, soft compression tennis ball on a smaller tennis court with a lower net. Children will begin to develop their athletic and hand-eye coordination skills through specific drills which focuses on footwork and stroke development.  Children who complete the Red Ball program will have a basic understanding of stroke mechanics as well as being able to direct their shot, and sustain a rally with coaches and fellow students.

Orange Ball Level 2

Orange Ball is the second level of the 10U youth progression, and children entering the program will have developed all of the Red Ball program skills. The Orange Ball program utilizes a decompressed tennis ball on a smaller tennis court with a regular net.  The program consists of drills to improve their tennis stroke mechanics and movement skills.  Additionally, the program introduces live ball play to develop their point play skills. Graduates of the program will demonstrate the ability to consistently serve, understand tennis scoring, and rally with other students on a modified tennis court.

Green Ball Level 3

Green Ball is the third level of the 10U youth progression and is played on a full-sized tennis court with a regular sized, lower compression tennis ball. Students in the program are beginning to develop a mastery of tennis stroke mechanics with a focus on rallies and point play.  Students graduating from the program will be able to do cooperative drills, rally from the baseline, and be able to play a tennis match set on a regulation size tennis court.

Advanced Green Ball,  Advanced Junior Player, and Tournament Training will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-Noon. The cost for the program is $325 per week and with the exception of Advanced Green Ball, you may register by clicking the tab below.  Please contact Howard Sherman at howard@mrctennis.com, if you have any questions.

Advance Green Ball (Level 3 - High Performance Track)

Advanced Green Ball is designed for the student who is proficient in all Green Ball skills and wishes to compete in USTA tournaments.  For participation in the program, students must have an evaluation and are expected to be able to rally and serve with consistency. In the Advanced Green Program, students will gain the ability to train cooperatively, learn how to hit with spin, and develop tennis strategy. It is a selective program and requires the approval of our 10U Director, Howard Sherman.  For more information, please contact Howard at, howard@mrctennis.com.

AJP Level 4

The Advanced Junior Program is designed for the mid-level player who has graduated from our Green Ball program and is approximately 10-16 years old. The clinic is combination of drilling and hitting and is geared towards improving a player’s stroke mechanics and point production. As students advance, they will be taught strategy and shot selection, so they can take their game to the next level.

Tournament Training Level 5

The Tournament Training Program clinic is well suited for the high school player and is designed to improve a player’s skills for match and tournament competition.  The drills used in this clinic will improve a player’s shot selection, so they develop reliable shot patters in tough situations which should improve their chances of winning. In addition, this program has a fitness component, so they can outlast their opponents even in the toughest of matches.
